Join us for a reflective and intimate queer book club with PA Nguyễn and Thảo Tô. The book we’ll be discussing is Parallels by Vũ Đình Giang, translated from Vietnamese by Khải Q. Nguyễn (Major Books).
Embedded in violence, insanity, betrayals, homoeroticism and surrealism, Parallels is a riveting account of how carnal and emotional scars can determine how we love and hurt each other; an exquisite début that introduces readers to the astonishing gifts of Vũ Đình Giang’s imaginative power and distinctive style.
Participants will be able to get a discounted copy via the publisher, just make sure you select the option ‘with book’. We will then email you the discount code.
It's Pay What You Can (as small as £1), and all proceeds will go towards ESEA Community Centre. And as always, snacks will be provided.
