ESEACC Luncheon Club
First launched in 1985, the Luncheon Club has been bringing a taste of home and comfort to the diaspora in Hackney for over four decades, and counting.
The Luncheon Club now runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Mondays, meals are served by the plate, while Wednesdays and Fridays feature shared table dining.

General Advice Service
Our general advice service is the pillar that supports our community centre's service arm. We are proud to be the successor to the heritage advice centre that was among the first organised Chinese community spaces in London, now providing culturally appropriate support services to London's East and Southeast Asian community. We also maintain good relationships with mainstream service providers and other ethnically diverse advice services.

Together We Rise
We recognise that ESEA women over pension age in the UK may face nuanced challenges that affect their ability to claim the vital financial support they need. Our new initiative, ESEA Women: Together We Rise, funded by Independent Age, aims to improve the financial wellbeing of older ESEA women and strengthen their confidence in navigating the UK welfare entitlement system.

Hate Crime Advocacy
We have noticed a rise in Asian hate crimes amid the pandemic, as the outbreak of COVID-19 saw a rise in discrimination towards East and Southeast Asian communities within the UK.
Our Hate Crime casework was previously delivered through the On Your Side programme. Following the withdrawal of MHCLG funding for On Your Side, ESEACC have continued supporting individuals experiencing racial harassment or discrimination, helping them understand their rights, access reporting mechanisms, and navigate the criminal justice system.
In addition to the services made possible by our generous funders, the ESEA Community Centre also offers free services run by our volunteers. You can book an appointment with them or try walking in, though availability is not always guaranteed.

IT Support Service

Our IT support service is provided by our volunteer Xiao Da (曉達). The service is available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and is here to help with any issues related to electronic devices, whether it’s a phone, tablet, or computer. It is especially designed to support our older community members.
Xiao Da can assist in Mandarin, English, and basic Cantonese.
Legal Advice Service

Our legal advice service is offered by our Centre Manager, David, who can assist in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. This service provides general legal guidance only.

Our Vietnamese support service is offered by our volunteer, Liliane and Thảo. This general support service is designed for Vietnamese community members with limited English proficiency.
Lily and Thảo can assist with a range of everyday matters, including booking healthcare appointments, interpreting letters, making phone calls, and more.
